The holidays are a time for family, friends & food, and of course, cannot miss some amazing drink recipes. These some of classic Christmas cocktails below hope to spread to you some joyful for the cozy season in the year.

Glühwein
In Germany, mulled wine goes by the name Glühwein, which literally means “glow-wine,” because of how you feel after you’ve been drinking it outside in December. The citrusy spiced wine — and an extra shot of rum or amaretto — makes it much easier to spend a few hours out in the cold.

Wassail

Since 1400, wassail which means “good health”, is a beverage of hot mulled cider, drunk traditionally as an integral part of wassailing, a Medieval Christmastide English drinking ritual intended to ensure a good cider apple harvest the following year. Made with sugar, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, sometimes with brandy or sherry added.

Glögg

A Christmas tradition in Scandinavian countries, glögg is similar to mulled wine and wassail, though it does have a few unique twists. Most notably, cardamom pods are added to the spice mix and almonds and raisins are used as a garnish.

This particular glögg recipe mixes either spiced rum or brandy with red wine, a touch of vodka, and a whole host of seasonal spices. It is a flavorful warm punch and one that will delight all of your guests.

Eggnog

Throughout Canada and the United States, eggnog is traditionally consumed over Christmas season every year, from late November until the end of the holiday season

Eggnog, egg nog or egg-nog, historically also known (when alcoholic beverages are added) as milk punch or egg-milk punch, is a rich, chilled, sweetened, dairy-based beverage. It is traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, whipped egg whites, and egg yolks (which gives it a frothy texture, and its name). In some contexts, distilled spirits such as brandy, rum, whisky or bourbon are added to the drink.
